360Eyes Camera Setup: First-Time Guide from Unboxing to Live View

To set up a 360Eyes camera for the first time: install the app (360Eyes on iOS, 360Eyes Pro on Android), create an account, power the camera on, tap the + button to add a device, and pair it with your 2.4 GHz WiFi network using either the QR code method or AP (hotspot) mode. Before you start

1. Download the right app for your phone:
   • iPhone/iPad: 360Eyes on the App Store — requires iOS 13 or later, published by Puwell.

2. Open the app and register an account, then verify it as prompted. Doing this before touching the camera keeps the pairing flow uninterrupted.
3. Connect your phone to the 2.4 GHz WiFi network the camera will use, and have the password ready.

How to connect a 360Eyes camera step by step

1. Power on and read the indicator light

Plug the camera in (or screw a bulb model into a powered socket) and give it 30–60 seconds to boot. On most 360Eyes cameras, a blinking indicator light means the camera is waiting to pair; some models also play a voice prompt. If the light is solid, off, or behaving unexpectedly, the camera is probably not in pairing mode — press and hold the reset button until you hear a tone, as described in the reset guide.

2. Add the device in the app

In the app's Devices list, tap the + (Add device) button and follow the on-screen flow. Depending on the app version you'll be asked to pick a device type or a pairing method.

3. QR code pairing (the usual method)

1. Enter your WiFi network name and password when prompted. Double-check the password — a typo is the number-one cause of failed setup.
2. The app generates a QR code on your phone screen.
3. Hold the screen roughly 10–20 cm (4–8 inches) in front of the camera lens.
4. When the camera reads the code, most models confirm with a tone or voice prompt, then connect to your WiFi within a minute or so.
5. The camera appears in your Devices list. Tap it to open the live view.

4. AP (hotspot) pairing as a fallback

If the camera never scans the QR code, most models offer an AP or hotspot mode:

1. In the add-device flow, choose the AP/hotspot option (naming varies by app version).
2. Go to your phone's WiFi settings and join the network broadcast by the camera itself (its name usually contains the device ID).
3. Return to the app, which hands your home WiFi details to the camera directly.
4. The camera reboots onto your network and shows up in the Devices list.

Why 2.4 GHz WiFi matters

360Eyes cameras pair on 2.4 GHz WiFi only — they cannot see or join 5 GHz networks. If your router broadcasts a single combined name for both bands (common with mesh systems), your phone may silently sit on 5 GHz and pass the camera details it can't use. Workarounds: move further from the router so the phone drops to 2.4 GHz, temporarily split the bands into separate network names in your router settings, or briefly disable the 5 GHz band during setup.

Name your camera and turn on motion alerts

Once the camera is online:

1. Rename it to something meaningful ("Front Door", "Garage") — essential once you have more than one device.
2. Open the camera's settings and find Alert to enable motion detection notifications. Allow the app to send notifications when your phone asks.
