Reset Your 360Eyes Camera
When a factory reset fixes a 360Eyes camera, what the reset erases, and guides to the 360eyes reset button and resetting without the app.
A factory reset returns a 360Eyes camera to its out-of-the-box state. It is the standard fix when the camera is stuck offline, refuses to pair, or needs to move to a new WiFi network or a new owner. This page explains when a reset actually helps, what it erases, and where to find our step-by-step guides.
This is an independent, unofficial guide for 360Eyes and 360Eyes Pro users. Hardware details vary between camera batches, so we use hedged wording where behavior differs from model to model.
When a Reset Is Needed
A factory reset is usually the right move in these situations:
- Changing WiFi router or WiFi password. The camera only remembers one network. If your new network uses a different name or password, the camera cannot reconnect on its own. (Some firmware offers a Change Router option in the app settings — try that first if the camera is still online.)
- Camera shows offline and won't recover. If power-cycling and checking your router don't bring it back, a reset clears a corrupted WiFi configuration.
- Pairing fails repeatedly. When the 360Eyes Pro app can't complete setup, resetting puts the camera back into pairing mode cleanly.
- You bought the camera second-hand or you lost access to the account it was set up with. See resetting without the app.
- You're selling or giving the camera away. Reset it (and remove it from your Devices list in the app) so the next owner can pair it.
- Random glitches — frozen live view, settings that won't save, a status light stuck in an error pattern.
A reset will not fix problems caused by your network itself (for example, a 5 GHz-only WiFi network — 360Eyes cameras pair on 2.4 GHz only) or by a failing power supply.
What a Factory Reset Erases
On most 360Eyes cameras, a factory reset wipes:
- The saved WiFi network name and password
- The account binding that links the camera to a 360Eyes / 360Eyes Pro account (on most units — see the original binding account article for exceptions)
- Custom settings such as alert preferences, recording schedule, status light, and viewing options
What it generally does not erase:
- Recordings on the TF (microSD) card. Old clips usually stay on the card after a reset. If you're handing the camera to someone else, remove the card or format it from the app's TF card settings before resetting.
- Cloud recordings, which live on the server side and follow the account, not the camera.
After the reset you'll need to pair the camera again from scratch in the iOS 360Eyes app or the Android 360Eyes Pro app.

- 360Eyes Reset Button: How to Reset a 360Eyes Camera — where the reset button hides on common camera styles (pinhole near the SD slot, on the base, or near the bulb collar on light-bulb cameras), how long to hold it, and how to re-pair afterwards. Start here for a normal reset.
- Reset a 360Eyes Camera Without the App — what to do when you can't log in, changed phones, or bought a used camera that's still tied to the original binding account.
If the camera resets fine but won't reconnect, double-check that your phone is on a 2.4 GHz WiFi network during pairing — that single detail causes most failed setups.
